Who it fits
Good fit for
You should buy this if you own a Camp Chef Gridiron 36 and want targeted protection. The 600D polyester fabric suits those who cook frequently and need reliable weather resistance. The form-fitting straps are ideal for users in areas with occasional wind gusts. If you prefer a cover that stays in place without constant adjustment, this spec matters. It is also a good choice for campers who want gear that stands up to backcountry demands while protecting their investment on the back patio.
Who should skip it
Skip this if you do not own a Camp Chef Gridiron 36. The cover is not universal and will not fit other griddle sizes or brands. Key specs for this cover
Material: Polyester
This cover uses polyester fabric to shield your grill from rain, sun, and dust. Polyester is a common choice for outdoor gear because it balances weight and durability. You get a material that resists mildew better than natural fibers like cotton. It is not waterproof on its own, so look for coated versions if you need heavy rain protection. This spec tells you the base fiber type used in the weave.
Fabric Density: 600D
The 600D rating indicates the thickness and density of the polyester fibers. Higher denier numbers generally mean a tougher, more abrasion-resistant fabric. A 600D cover will withstand rough handling and sharp edges better than thinner 210D or 420D options. It offers a good balance of protection without adding excessive bulk. You get a cover that feels substantial and can handle regular use on a patio or campsite without tearing easily.
Compatible Appliance: Camp Chef Gridiron 36
This cover is designed exclusively for the Camp Chef Gridiron 36 flat-top grill. It ensures a precise fit that covers the entire cooking surface and body. Using a universal cover might leave gaps where moisture can enter or cause the cover to flap in the wind. This specific compatibility means you do not need to adjust the fit manually. It is the right choice if you own this exact model of outdoor griddle.
Closure Type: Form-fitting straps
The cover uses form-fitting straps to secure it tightly around the grill. This method prevents the cover from blowing away in windy conditions. It keeps the fabric taut, which reduces flapping noise and minimizes the chance of the cover rubbing against the grill surface. You do not need to tie knots or use separate bungee cords. This closure style ensures the cover stays in place during storms or high winds.
Design and Build Quality
The listing specifies that the cover is made from heavy-duty 600D coated polyester fabric. This fabric density indicates a thick, durable weave designed to withstand outdoor elements. You get a material that resists rain and sun exposure better than thinner options. The black finish helps it blend into most patio or camping setups without drawing unnecessary attention. According to the listing, the material is coated to enhance its weather-resistant properties, which helps keep your Gridiron 36 dry and clean when not in use.
In terms of size, the dimensions are listed as 3.5 inches in width, 15.7 inches in height, and 9.4 inches in length. These measurements likely refer to the folded or packaged size of the cover, not the coverage area itself. The cover is designed to fit the Camp Chef Gridiron 36 specifically. This form-fitting design ensures that the cover stays secure on the grill surface. It does not require custom tailoring or complex adjustments to fit properly.
The closure system uses form-fitting straps to keep the cover in place. This feature is important for windy conditions, as it prevents the cover from blowing off your grill. The straps are integrated into the design, so you do not need to purchase separate accessories. The model number PC36XL is provided in the specs. This confirms the cover is tailored for the larger Gridiron 36 model. You can rely on these specifications to ensure compatibility with your specific outdoor cooking appliance.
Setup and Daily Use Guide
Setting up this cover is a straightforward process. You simply place the black PC36XL model over your Camp Chef Gridiron 36. The listing notes that it features form-fitting straps. These straps secure the cover in place. This design helps prevent the cover from shifting or blowing away when the wind picks up. You do not need complex tools or assembly steps. The cover is designed to fit the specific dimensions of the Gridiron 36. It is not a universal fit for other griddles. Daily use involves draping the cover over the grill when you are not cooking. The heavy-duty 600D coated polyester fabric provides weather-resistant protection. This material shields your investment from rain, sun, and dust. The coated finish helps maintain the griddle in good condition. You can leave the cover on for extended periods. The durable construction is built to stand up to outdoor demands. It is suitable for both back patio and camping applications. The included accessory is just the cover itself. There are no additional parts to manage. Keeping the cover on when not in use is the primary routine. This simple action protects the flat-top surface. The form-fitting design ensures a snug fit without loose fabric flapping around. This reduces wear on the material over time. You get a practical solution for protecting your outdoor cooking station. The setup takes only minutes. The daily maintenance is minimal. You just ensure the straps are secure. This keeps the cover stable and effective.
Before You Buy This Cover
You need to verify that your appliance is indeed the Camp Chef Gridiron 36. The model PC36XL is designed for this specific unit. Do not assume it fits other griddles or flat-tops. The cover is black and made from 600D coated polyester. You should clean it regularly to prevent mold and mildew buildup. Wipe it down with a damp cloth after heavy rain. Store it in a dry place when not in use. This accessory is essential for protecting your investment from weather damage. It fits well alongside other outdoor cooking gear in your setup. Check the dimensions before purchasing. Ensure you have space to store the cover when not in use. This item is a practical addition to your patio or camping equipment. It does not replace the need for proper grill maintenance. You must still season and clean your griddle after each use. The cover only protects the exterior surface from the elements.
