This ez dongteng heavy duty 600d BBQ grill review focuses on a protective cover designed for the Kamado Joe Joe Jr. It is not the grill itself, but a specialized accessory for the 13.5-inch portable ceramic charcoal cooker. The cover is defined by its 600D oxford polyester fabric density and its specific dimensions of 22 inches in diameter by 30 inches in height. These two specifications ensure a snug fit for your egg-style grill. The product aims to shield your equipment from rain, snow, and wind. You get a durable barrier that helps keep your ceramic grill dry and ready for use when you return to cook.
What stands out
- Constructed from 600D heavy-duty oxford polyester for high tear resistance.

- Sealed seams use special waterproof tape to prevent leakage through stitching.
Who it fits
Good fit for
This cover suits owners of the Kamado Joe Joe Jr or similar 13.5-inch portable ceramic charcoal grills. If you store your grill outdoors in areas with rain, snow, or strong winds, the sealed seams and velcro straps provide reliable protection. The water-repellent finish makes cleaning simple; you can just hose it down. It is ideal for users who want to maintain their ceramic grill’s condition without extra effort. The specific 22x30 inch size ensures it fits your appliance tightly, preventing flapping in the breeze.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you own the standard Kamado Joe Classic or the larger 18-inch models. The data shows this cover is sized specifically for the 13.5-inch Joe Jr. It will not fit your larger ceramic grill. Additionally, if you need a cover with a different height, such as the 48-inch version, this 30-inch model is too short. Ensure your grill matches the 22-inch diameter requirement. The product is also only available in black, so color preference matters.
Verdict: This cover is a practical, spec-driven solution for protecting your 13.5-inch Kamado Joe Joe Jr from the elements. It delivers a snug, waterproof fit using durable 600D fabric and secure velcro straps.
Key specs explained for cover
Material: Oxford polyester
The outer shell uses Oxford polyester, a woven fabric known for strength and abrasion resistance. This material choice helps the cover withstand daily handling and outdoor elements without fraying. You get a durable barrier that protects your ceramic grill from scratches and minor impacts. This fabric type is common in high-quality outdoor gear, ensuring the cover lasts through seasons of use without degrading quickly.
Fabric Density: 600D
The 600D rating indicates the thickness and durability of the polyester weave. Higher denier numbers generally mean a tougher, more tear-resistant material. This density provides substantial protection against wind, hail, and debris. It is thick enough to offer serious weather resistance but flexible enough to fit snugly over your grill. This spec helps you compare it against lighter, less protective covers that may fail in harsh conditions.
Dimensions: 22 Dia x 30 H
These exact dimensions ensure a precise fit for the Kamado Joe Joe Jr. A snug fit prevents wind from lifting the cover and exposes less surface area to rain. It also keeps dust and debris out more effectively than a loose cover. If your grill size differs, this cover will not work. Always match these measurements to your specific grill model to ensure proper coverage and protection.
Waterproof Lining: Vinyl coating, PVC coating
The lining features vinyl and PVC coatings that create a waterproof barrier. This prevents moisture from penetrating the fabric and reaching your grill. Sealed seams further block water entry, keeping the interior dry. This is crucial for protecting ceramic cookers from water damage and rust on metal parts. It ensures your grill remains ready for use without needing extensive drying or cleaning after rain.
Closure Type: Velcro straps
Velcro straps secure the cover tightly around the grill base. This feature prevents the cover from blowing away in strong winds. It allows for quick installation and removal while maintaining a secure fit. You can adjust the tension to ensure a snug seal against the elements. This closure method is practical for outdoor use, offering reliability without complex buckles or ties that might wear out over time.
Materials and protective design
According to the listing, the cover uses 600D heavy-duty oxford polyester. This fabric density provides a robust outer shell that resists tearing and abrasion. The material is treated with a water-resistant PVC coating. This finish creates a barrier against rain, snow, and hail. You do not need to worry about moisture seeping through the fabric during wet weather.
The seams are sealed with special waterproof tape. This construction prevents water leakage through stitching punctures. The listing states this offers the same waterproof rating as a camping tent. You get a reliable seal that keeps the grill interior dry. The cover is designed for a 22-inch diameter and 30-inch height. This size fits the Kamado Joe Joe Jr and similar 13.5-inch portable ceramic grills.
A black color finish helps hide dirt and stains. The water-repellent surface allows for easy cleaning. You can simply hose off the cover to remove debris. Velcro straps on both sides provide a snug fit. These straps help tighten the cover against wind. You avoid the issue of the cover blowing away in strong gusts. This design ensures your grill remains protected and ready for use.
Setup and everyday use guide
You place the cover over your Kamado Joe Joe Jr. The listed dimensions are 22 inches in diameter and 30 inches in height. These measurements align with the 13.5-inch portable ceramic charcoal grill. You can also use this cover on other egg-style ceramic grills that share similar dimensions, such as the Char-Griller Akorn Jr. The fit is designed to be snug. You secure the cover using the additional velcro straps on both sides. These straps tighten the fabric around the grill body. This windproof feature prevents the cover from blowing away in strong gusts. You do not need complex tools for this setup. The process is straightforward and quick.
Daily use involves protecting your ceramic grill from outdoor elements. The 600D heavy-duty oxford polyester resists tearing and cold cracking. The waterproof vinyl and PVC coatings guard against rain, snow, hail, and wind. The seams are sealed with special waterproof tape. This prevents water from leaking through stitching punctures. You keep your griddle grill dry and ready for use. The water-repellent finish helps with stain prevention. When dirt accumulates, you can clean it easily. Simply hose the cover with water. The dirt comes off without scrubbing. The cover is available in black. It comes in two height options, 30 inches and 48 inches. You select the size that matches your appliance. This accessory ensures your charcoal grill remains protected year-round. You maintain a clean and dry cooking surface for your next session.
Before you buy this cover
This product is a protective accessory, not a cooking appliance. You already own the Kamado Joe Joe Jr 13.5-inch grill. The cover fits this specific model and similar egg-shaped ceramic grills like the Char-Griller Akorn Jr. Verify your grill dimensions match the listed 22-inch diameter and 30-inch height. If you have the larger 18-inch Classic Joe, you need a different size option. The listing shows two height variations, so confirm you select the 30-inch version for the Joe Jr. Keep the cover dry when not in use. Hose it off to remove dirt. Store it in a cool place to preserve the vinyl coating. This cover belongs in your outdoor cooking kit alongside your grill and tools. It does not replace your grill. It protects your investment from weather damage. Check the velcro straps for proper fit. Ensure the windproof design secures tightly.
